In this post, we will learn a very useful pattern in Thai ยิ่ง (…) ยิ่ง (…) (yîng (…) yîng (…)).

This pattern is used to say “the more …. the more…”.

For example “the more challenging, the more fun” = ยิ่งท้าทายยิ่งสนุก (yîng táa taai yîng sà-nùk).

Another alternative which is used often is ยิ่ง (…เท่าไร) ก็ยิ่ง(…) (yîng (…tâo rài) gôr yîng (…)).

Let’s see some more examples below:

• The more you talk, the more I hate you.
  ยิ่งคุณพูดยิ่งฉันเกลียด
