Useful Thai Pattern: ยังไม่ทัน (…) ก็ (…)

In the post, we will learn about how to use ยังไม่ทัน (…) ก็ (…).

This pattern means “Didn’t get to do (something) when (something else) happened”.

For example, I haven’t graduated yet but I already have a job.
yang mâi tan rian jòp gôr mee ngaan láew

More examples:

  • The day hasn’t even finished yet and he already quit.
    ยังไม่ทันหมดวัน เค้าก็เลิกแล้ว
    yang mâi tan mòt wan · káo gôr lêrk láew

  • I haven’t even started flirting yet, but already I got shoved into a liquor store.
    ยังไม่ทันเริ่มจีบ​ ก็โดนถีบไปอยู่ร้านเหล้า
    yang mâi tan rêrm jèep · gôr dohn tèep bpai yòo ráan kâo

  • Not even started the work yet and they want to fire me already.
    yang mâi tan kâo tam ngaan kăo gôr yàak lâi òk pŏm láew
