I bet you have seen or heard Thai people saying สู้ๆ (sôo sôo) in many situations. But do you actually know what สู้ๆ means and when are appropriate situations to use it?
The meaning of สู้ๆ
สู้ๆ literally translates to “fighting fighting” however the real uses of สู้ๆ (sôo sôo) are to say something like the following:
- You can do it!
- Don’t give up! / Don’t quit! / Don’t be discouraged!
- Keep going!
Etc.
There are many situations where you can use สู้ๆ and these situations are related to telling someone to keep going and not to quit. Let me give you some examples:
Examples:
- a: I haven’t been able to reach my boyfriend. I think he died!
ฉันยังไม่สามารถติดต่อแฟนฉันได้ ฉันสงสัยว่าเขาจะตายแล้ว
